My mind said I would fail.

That in this new chapter I would not sail.

I had no confidence to begin.

No belief in myself that I had within.

But determined to prove myself wrong.

I set out to rewrite my mind’s song.

I took the first step in this life stage.

I was ever motivated to write my own page.

I had been a shy and quiet soul my whole life.

Ever feeling inadequate and lost in strife.

Out of that shell, I would have to grow.

Into a new world I was afraid to know.

But this new journey I was about to embark on filled my heart with joy.

Living my life solo for the first time was like a Christmas toy.

Exciting and new adventures awaited ahead.

Fear and doubt also filled me with dread.

Yet, determined to not give up, but to continue through.

I wanted to find what life had for me in its view.

So into a new chapter I went truly alone for the first time.

As I look back now, all I’ve been through and done has been worth the climb.
