Green Woman

There was this girl at the party. She had sleek black hair that rested on her lower back. Her skin was so pale if someone told me she was dead I would’ve believed it. But none of that stuff was important, what mattered was her dress. Her emerald deep green dress fit her like a glove. It seemed more like she moved with the dress than it with her. Shock had paralyzed me, causing my veins to ache like venom had run through them. The rainbow lights reflected onto it making it glow. It was truly stunning, and I wanted it.

“Hello, my name’s Leah,” I had reached my hand out as if it was the 1950’s. I remember being so embarrassed.

“Hello Leah,” her smile crooked on the edges of her mouth, “I’m Silvia.” After some talking we left party to go back to my place. Not that we were going to sleep together or anything, to be honest I wanted her alone. I wanted that dress.

In the cab she leaned over to compliment my hair. My hair? My hair was frizzy, her hair was shiny and gorgeous. I wanted to have her hair so badly. Then I saw her skin up close, flawless as well. What was her secret? I wanted it, I could even feel a fire burning in my gut the more I looked at her and it began to hurt.

“Only green lights, you girls are lucky,” The cab driver had said.

“The luckiest,” she smiled sharply. Her teeth were so perfect, I wondered how pretty I’d be with teeth like hers.

Silvia laid her snake skin bag on my couch and sat down eyeing me. It wasn’t my fault, her green eyes were digging through me. She was too perfect, It wasn’t fair she was so flawless. So I poisoned her lime drink and she choked to death on my couch. I took her dress and her bag but there was nothing in there, no secrets as to who she is. Not even a lip gloss I could use.

Maybe… I should study her? Find out her skincare routine? So I raise my head to look and her but instead I’m met with her once lifeless emerald eyes. With slits for pupils, grassy scales, and sharp bright white fangs, she bit me. The venom turned my veins green, reminding me of when I saw her dress, and I died right then and there.

When I woke the next morning, my eyes had changed to a familiar color.
