Chapter 9

I do

Dear,

Joy

I see love in the fake-ripped jeans you got me for Christmas

You knew I hated fake rips, but we're the same size

I see love in the chocolate that I hide under the bed

I can't have you stealing any unless its Valentines Day

I see love in the small notebook you keep in the pocket of your cargo jeans

You don't know, but I look at the song lyrics every Sunday morning (it's like church for an atheist)

I see love in the necklace you got me on our two year anniversary

It was the day I freed you from the prison you called home

I see love in the ring I gave you, that's on your finger, right now

I asked you, standing up. You said you wouldn't say yes unless I got down on one knee

I see love now, looking in your eyes

Reading my vows to you

I see love in our future

I do

Love,

Lily
