Ice Skating
Write a poem which could have this as the title. Consider that it might not literally be about ice-skating.
The Pond
Whisps of snow dance in the frigid breeze
As the wind whips across the open space
Keeping the water cold enough to freeze
But the suns smile is like a warm embrace
With two layers, a hat and no winter coat
Everyone rushes to lace up on the shore
Stepping on water as if they could float
Gliding forward as if with wings they soar
A table is loaded with snacks upon the ice
While the shovel and plow clear the snow
Until there is just enough space to suffice
And the game they love can begin to flow
With gloves and sticks they move the puck
Over frozen fish and past the frosted trees
With a lot of pratice with a little bit of luck
A homemade trophy that anyone can seize
There is no stronger bond
Than one built on the pond
