The Burden of Memory
Write a poem that could have this as its title.
The Burden Of A Memory
Ruin the memories I have
My foolishness of those moments haunts me
My thoughtless nature keeping any chance of hurt at bay-
They wouldn’t hurt me
They love me
Family.
F for faithful
We hug, we laugh, tell stories, and share smiles
Our perfect perfect smiles, perfect laughs, perfect happiness
Family…
F for false
Fleeting.
Fiery.
Red hot tempers
Flaring.
The hugs were lies
The stories were tainted
The smiles were poisoned with covered up hate.
I thought I wanted my memories ruined
But then you did.
And my mind is drowning in my tainted imagination
I picture the love
I picture the bliss
But it echos the word false…
as it seeps through their teeth
