“Get away!” I scream, while sobbing, over and over and over again. “I know you’re not real!” The monster doesn’t leave. It stays, because it is red hate, and black despair, and everything about myself I want gone.

I lower myself the the floor, banging on the ground. “Get out of my head!” I say to it, while it stands there above me, all high and mighty.

“Fight back,” my head tells me. “You are not alone.” Slowly, I stand up. The monster speaks.

“You are worthless.” It says. “I am loved!” I reply. But it doesn’t let up.

“No one loves you!”

“Don’t lie to me!” I won’t let it win. Not again.

“The world is better of without you!”

“I am important!” I scream.

“You are ugly.”

“I am exactly how I should be.”

“You don’t deserve love.”

“I deserve the world.”

“You are weak.”

“I- I am stronger than you ever could be.”

“You know I am better, you know I’m stronger, you know you will let me win because I should. Because I am correct.”

I scream.

“I- I am perfect and you- you are not real.”

“NO.” It screams. But I am ready. I will fight back. Because I know . . . I know that-
