POEM STARTER
After The Storm
Using any form of poetry, write about an emotion as if it were a storm.
Wanting
After the storm the searchlights begin shining, but you're over in the corner hiding.
Because you can't be found in this mess of a state, or that'd be just confirming your fate.
The wind blows and the tide rolls, but after the storm it’s all covered up with the tolls.
To pretend something isn’t when really it is, is like flipping a coin with only two heads.
If you act like it’s fine when really it’s not, you’re just tying yourself in a tighter knot.
The day is soon over the sun is yet here, but maybe that’s why you find yourself in fear.
Of the day which will come when the night is nigh, when the darkness enfolds the light and the sky.
To continue searching for nothing to be found, is like finding a marble that isn’t round.
To look for something that isn’t real, is like finding an ocean that isn’t teal.
If you spend your whole life wishing for something else, you’ll never truly realize what’s right in front of yourself.
