When the stars fell

my eyes were open

Wide with anxiety and worry

for the daylight

When the sun climbed

clawed its way back up

My mind dreamt

Full of terror and resignment

When I am lost

I don’t know what to feel

Dejected, maybe

Feeling like I can’t do it

When I create

I express myself

in ways spoke words never can

Everything washes away

When the stars rose

I am anew
