POEM STARTER
Write a poem that shows how a single moment in a person’s childhood still affects them to this day.
It does not have to be a something negative...
The Crux
Crux: the decisive, or most important point at issue
I,
For one,
Am glad
I grew up with unlimited joy
That I was sheltered from loss
And agony.
That I was given I chance breath
What I thought was fresh air.
I,
For one,
Am glad
That my parents protected me from
Sadness and cruelty
And showed me joy instead.
I,
For one,
Am glad
That I was fortunate enough to have that chance
To seek that joy
To eat good food and drink clean water
But
I,
For one,
Am sad
That some will not
And did not get that chance
And maybe never will.
We,
For all,
Shall strive to give our children
A chance to grow strong and solid,
To show them peace
And give them
All we were given or wished we were.
