I felt shocked, as the wind hit my back almost knocking me over. The sky was gray, crackling with energy. I looked at my companion who was trying to figure out a map. “After we find her we’ll return and help your mom.” I tried to put my hand on his shoulder, but he shoved me away. “I don't care about her and her wife's problems. I don't even know her, much less her name,” he looked like he was telling the truth, but I was doubtful. I looked back up at the sky, and it looked like it was holding back. “I think I know where the girl is.” I looked at Kevin. “Was that there before?” he pointed at an orange blooming flower. I grabbed him and ran across the horizon. “Remember what Elizabeth said? Once the flowers bloom, we’ll be doomed.” I looked him in the eyes, and for once he didn't push me away. As the rain started to soak us, we kept the pace, knowing the battle of the storms was awaiting us.
