POEM STARTER

Door shut tightly, might the monsters come.

Write a poem which ends with this line. You may wish to interpret the 'monsters’ metaphorically rather than literally.

Might They Come

At night they sneak in

Only until the sun arises then they’re done

I hear their claws scrape the floor

I hide under my blanket, waiting for the sun

I smell their horrible breath, sometimes with a tinge of blood

Door shut tightly, might the monsters come
