Write a story based on the worst case scenario in a classic fairy tale.
For example, what could have happened if one of Cinderella’s sisters became the Princes’ wife instead?
He Made Me Crazy
This isn’t your clasic “Little red riding hood” -_No-_ this is a much darker story…
Once upon a time there was a dear little girl who was loved by every one who looked at her, but most of all her grandmother, and there was nothing that she would not have given to the child. Once she gave her a little cap of red velvet, which suited her so well that she would never wear anything else. So she was always called Little Red Riding Hood.
One day her mother said to her, "Come, Little Red Riding Hood, here is a piece of cake and a bottle of wine. Take them to your grandmother, she is ill and weak, and they will do her good. Set out before it gets hot, and when you are going, walk nicely and quietly and do not run off the path, or you may fall and break the bottle, and then your grandmother will get _nothing_. And when you go into her room, don't forget to say, good-morning, and don't peep into every corner before you do it."
“I will take great care” said Little Red Riding Hood to her mother, and gave her hand on it.
The grandmother lived out in the wood, half a league from the village, and just as Little Red Riding Hood entered the wood, a dark shadowed creature met her. Little Red Riding Hood did not know what a wicked creature it was or if it was even real, and was not at all afraid of it -even though she should-
“Good-day, Little Red Riding Hood," it said in a deep _hushed_ tone
“Thank you kindly” she smiled, looking for its eyes but to only see shadows and a large mouth full of sharp teeth, no eyes, _nothing_.
“Whither away so early, Little Red Riding Hood?" It licked its teeth
“To my grandmother's."
“What have you got in your apron?"
“Cake and wine. Yesterday was baking-day, so poor sick grandmother is to have something good, to make her stronger."
“Where does your grandmother live, Little Red Riding Hood?"
“A good quarter of a league farther on in the wood. Her house stands under the three large oak-trees, the nut-trees are just below. You surely must know it," replied Little Red Riding Hood.
The creature withered away into the shadows, leaving her alone as all she could hear where faint screams and laughter.
Little Red Riding Hood raised her eyes, and when she saw the sunbeams dancing here and there through the trees, and pretty flowers growing everywhere, she thought, suppose I take grandmother a fresh nosegay, but only to be met with a black figure with nothing but bright red eyes stand beside a tree wither back into shadows, she thought im just imagining it. It is so early in the day that I shall still get there in good time. And so she ran from the path into the wood to look for flowers, sometimes catching peeps of eyes and shadow men, only to continue to ignore them and continue picking flowers. And whenever she had picked one, she fancied that she saw a still prettier one farther on, and ran after it, and so got deeper and deeper into the woods, the screams getting louder, but she ignored them too focused on the flowers to be bothered.
Meanwhile the shadow creature ran straight to the grandmother's house and knocked at the door.
“Who is there?"
“Little Red Riding Hood," replied the blood thirsty creature. "She is bringing cake and wine. Open the door."
“Lift the latch," called out the grandmother, "I am too weak, and cannot get up."
it lifted the latch, the door _sprang_ open, and without saying a word it went straight to the grandmother's room and hid in a shadow, going unseen.
Little Red Riding Hood, however, had been running about picking flowers, and when she had gathered so many that she could carry no more, she remembered her grandmother, and set out on the way to her.
She was surprised to find the cottage-door standing open, and when she went into the room, she had such a _strange_ feeling that she said to herself, oh dear, how uneasy I feel to-day, and at other times I like being with grandmother so much.
She called out, "Good morning," and her grandma responded “Good morning sweets” So she went to the bed and drew back the curtains.
“Oh, grandmother," she said, “I feel so uneasy”
“Your probably tired," was the reply.
“But, grandmother, there was shadow men," she said.
“well you have been having a lot of nightmares” she replied and reached out to softly hold her cheek
“But, grandmother, there was screaming”
“Your mother has been concerned with your hearing” she dropped her hand
“Oh, but, grandmother”
“Sweet heart your fine”
As her grandmother said this, little red riding hood got dizzy and started hearing the screams again.
She peered down at her grandmother only to see a shadow man in her place, reaching its long black claws towards her face.
Little red riding hood reached into the basket and pulled out the bottle of wine and broke it over the shadows head and used the glass shard to stab it to death.
She ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife and ran towards town, swinging it at every scream and voice she heard.
She ran through town and ran home.
Running into the house she was met face to face with another shadow creature, this one was tall and scarcely skinny, no mouth or eyes or arms.
She gripped the knife in her hand and leaped onto the creature, stabbing it to death.
Now covered in blood, she ran back into the town and started killing every shadow creature.
She ran into the road, chasing the shadow creatures until she heard a horn and came face to face with the front of a semi truck.
The trucker called athorities, when they arrived they took the trucker into custody and identified the dead bodies laying around, one of which belonged to little red riding hood.
An officer was sent to her home, to confront her mother about the girls death, only to arrive to the house with an open door. Concerned he walked in and saw the mother dead on the floor, stab wounds covering her bodies, so as a last resort walked to the grandmothers house who’s front door was also opened. The grandmother layed in the bed, glass shards buried in her skin, the sheets stained with wine.
As the officer turned to leave he came face to face with a tall shadow creature, hiding in the corner of the room. No eyes, just a giant mouth layered with sharp teeth.
“You don’t have permission to be here” the policeman pulled out his gun
“Good-day policeman” the creature licked its teeth
“Leave”
“No”
The policeman started hearing screams, and frantically looked around only to be swormed with shadow men. He shot at them and killed them and turned around and shot the creature with the large mouth. He was met with shrilling screams, so loud they caused the policeman to go deaf. The screams then went away and the world was normal, except one thing, the floor coated in blood, blood of the team of officers he shot and killed.
With a single gunshot echoing through the woods he shots himself, knowing he wouldn’t be able to live with what he has done.
