an itchy festering under my skin

the bags under my eyes

designed by plastic straws in dark venues

no wonder i can’t see clearly

delusional, dreaming

what does it mean when sleep won’t find you

at the sound of your alarm clock buzzing

wishing you would bug me

like the itching in my knees, tied

hooked to you like a junkie

i saw you last night in my dreams

but then again, not really

at least, it wasn’t clearly

no that would be crazy

these soliloquies that shadow me

demanding every focus of my mind

and nothing more or less would make anyone tired
