A Dimantium Gem!

Both parties are in a wooden, hole-in-the-wall gemstone shop in a busy town. The boy urges to take the arrangement into a private room. The room is full of treasure with three tiny windows near the ceiling.

David slides the bag across the wooden table, the thing making a rattling noise, the old appraiser stands across from the boy. The man peers inside. “Where in the great World did you come across this!?” The old voice exclaimed, “This is… a Dimantium gem.”

The boy seemed to nod.

The gem glows a mysterious aquamarine hue. The bearded appraiser excitedly carries the gem in his right hand, his large arm covered in braclets and gems alike.

The boy’s face stays serious. “Does that mean it’s valuable?”

“Well… it’s too rare to be of value—it’s a thing of fairy tales—considered to be only be wielded by chosen folks.” The old voice said, “Where did you find something like this?”

David’s eyebrow furrowed.

“It’s my father’s. He was a adventurer and bore this gem in his sword as he fought.” David said.

“Of what rank?” The old man inquired.

“Platinum.” David smirks grimly.

“Checks out...” The old man chuckled then rubbed his beard, “if I were just any old coot I’d snag this right off your hands but, it’s important that you keep that gem young boy. It’s has blessings from the Gods, and anything made from this material will be _unstoppable_.”

“Then how would one turn this gem into something useful?” David tilted his head, his face loosening.

“I’d ask one of the blacksmiths in town, _particularly_ that old hag Avis if you could get ahold of ‘er. She would have more answers then I could ever give you on something as unfamiliar as this.”

“Then I’ll go ask her then..” The boy gathered his bearings and walked to the door.

“Wait…” The old man grabbed his shoulder, “Tell her I sent you. She’ll understand.”

“Alright.” The boy said impatiently.

“And be safe now!” The old man cackled.

He later muttered about the mystery of youth.
