The One
“Get down from there right this second, you headache of a person!” My next door neighbor, Ben called.
“Why?” I gasped
“Oh, do you like me?” I began to blush and smile while giggling innocently.
Ben rolled his eyes.
“Just get off the roof please, I don’t want you to injure yourself.” Ben replied.
“Whatever.” I grabbed my stuff, and just as I was going to take a step, I slipped falling down off of the roof.
Ben caught me and we started intensely into one another’s eyes.
“Thank you.” I said, clearing my throat.
“Don’t ever do that again, I won’t be here next time to catch you. You’re so fortunate I was here.” Said Ben, as I got off of his arms.
We stare into each other’s eyes once more and I began to speak.
“How did you know I was up here anyway? Because as soon as i’d been up there you came outside.” I asked.
“I was watching you from the window. I was in the kitchen and could see you.” Replied Ben.
“That’s not creepy or anything.” I let out a nervous giggle.
I smiled and he stepped closer.
He grabbed my waist, pulled me in and kissed me.
“I like you, I’ve liked you since childhood. I’ve liked you for as long as I can remember.” He said as he let me go.
I looked at him deeply staring into his ocean eyes.
“I like you too.” I replied.
We hugged and parted ways for the night. I couldn’t wait to see him tomorrow.
