As I looked into your eyes,

I saw my future go up in flames

Is this all normal?

To look the devil in the eye and ask him to

“Call me by your name”?

I wonder if I’ve hit it,

The limit of my sanity

Dining with the devil

Left me with the mentality

That every cloud has a silver lining

And every dagger is double-edged

Who am I to judge

The words of a fallen prophet?

And so I looked into my mirror

Looked it in the eye

And asked it ever so nicely

“Who’s the devil in disguise?”

It can’t be me, I realize

I can’t fall in love with myself

But then again, my aromantic ass,

Never thought I’d fall for hell

And Lord, have mercy

Lord, be kind

And cure this burning heart of mine

I’ll cross my heart and hope to die

But he knows I mean no wrong

Because love is blind

And love is dumb

And God, this poem is too damn long

But you understand my heart of hearts

I never meant to fall in love

With him
