POEM STARTER
Write a poem about a curse, evil, or malintent.
An atmosphere of wickedness is a rarer theme in poetry. Have a go at creating a menacing tone in your poem.
By Fire Under Moonlight
She chanted by fire,
Under moonlit sky.
I looked at the pyre
And watched a man fry.
Beautiful she was,
Touched by raw beauty.
Easily she robs
Men of their duty.
Wary of thyself,
Oh, men thou should be.
Ye knoweth thyself
Else burn upon tree.
Watch me now manfolk,
As I chant thy curse.
Hear this or now choke,
And heed every verse.
By choke or by plague
I need not to choose.
But death, tis too vague,
Just know thou will lose.
This life of yours, is,
At least tis for now.
My curse be no quiz,
Thou must keep thy vow.
Thy promise to her,
Though must therefore keep.
Else Become a cur,
I’ll change you to sheep.
With curse I leave thee,
And fade unto night
Count now. One, two, three,
With thee i leave plight.
