New Addition

The house smelled like me. My fur smelled like Dawn dish soap because Red Hair Lady had recently gave me a bath. I walked wobbly to my pink circular bed, and put my little chin down against it. Red Hair Lady walked inside but she looked more Exhausted Lady. She ran up to me and pet me and kissed my head and tapped my nose. I licked her hand and layed back down.

I noticed something, though.

It smelled like a new person. Or, child, infant.

There it was. I got out of my bed and walked wobbly towards it. It was in a crib, very tiny, about my size. Red Hair Lady went to pick up the infant and held it to her chest. It looked like a boy, but then she said, “Clementine..”

Oh, well, never mind.

She kissed the girl infant’s head, Clementine, and I knew she was going to be a part of our family. Red Hair Lady, Clementine, and me. Buddy.
