Solar Chase
**This is one of my love poems for my Day 143!**
**I wrote this poem off of a prompt of my own creation, so if you use this prompt, please credit me for the prompt.**
**Prompt: Compare unrequited love to something in the natural world (a flower that blooms for no one; the moon chasing the sun).**
It’s like we’re in
A solar chase,
Rarely meeting
Face to face.
It’s like I’m the moon
And you’re the sun,
I’ll be chasing you
Forever with hope.
_Hope that someday_
_You’ll stop running…_
Like the moon
Chasing the sun,
I’m hopelessly running after
Who I think is the one.
_But you don’t want to be_
_The one for me._
The times we meet are rare
Like solar eclipses,
When the moon
And the sun
Briefly cross paths,
Then carry on
Without a care.
_I do care though…_
_Sadly, _
_You don’t._
A solar chase,
Each of us running
At our own pace,
But yours is faster…
_I can’t seem _
_To catch up._
Will you ever
Slow down,
Will you ever
Wait for me?
_I guess not…_
Like the moon
And the sun,
You’ll never be mine
‘Cause you left me behind.
_Chasing someone,_
_Chasing love,_
_Chasing the sun,_
_It’s all the same…_
__
_Like the sun,_
_You can’t be tamed…_
