Where there is light, there is always a shadow close behind

A darkness you have never seen

Adoration at your hands, which you deem to good to touch

Do you know how they long to be you?

In the night that is life, you are the morning, midday, afternoon sun

How you always seem to be above

A brush of the hand, like starlight, dismissing

Do you genuinely not know?

The bottom, Earth’s core, a small yet fiery inferno

I hate to admit that that’s me

Condemnation to this position where I seem to be stuck

You’ll never know how I wish to be you
