My Granddaughter
It was Christmas morning but my whole family was sick with Covid. It was very cold out so I layered up with 3 jackets and loaded up my presents. I drove to my daughters house with everyone’s presents except for one my youngest granddaughters. Sure I had gotten her other gifts but I didn’t have her special gift the one she was least expecting. As I made my way to their house I called my daughter and told her to wait by the door to open it because I had their presents right outside. She called me crazy for being out in the weather while having Covid but ignored her I continued my mission. After about thirty minutes we had all the gifts inside I quickly rushed home to FaceTime her. I explained to my granddaughter that her special gift jadnt come in yet but that it would soon she thanked me for the rest of the gifts and then so did the rest of the family. About two days later my Covid had gotten worse I had trouble getting out of bed and fell. My son who was with me at the time had found me and taken me to the hospital. The had transferred me to a bigger hospital that could treat me turns out my Covid turned into pneumonia. This took a big toll on my family especially my youngest granddaughter we had always had a special bond that no one could break. After I learned I would be hospitalized for a week or two I called my granddaughter almost everyday to see if she got her gift. Many of the times she would end up crying seeing me her strong and tough grandpa hooked up to medical machines and stuff. But after about a week of calls there was one day when she finally got her special gift. You see she had always been into fashion and makeup stuff so, naturally I got her a pair of these fringe boots. And she loves them wore them almost every! Until one day after about being in the hospital for about 2 weeks they got a call. They needed to come to the hospital for an emergency my heart had stopped. Only my daughter showed up in the room but it was to late I was dead. My heart had stopped 6 times in their way up here. My granddaughter was heart broken, but every night my daughter would tell her that I had to leave them no matter how much I loved them because that was gods plan.
