“You ripped my life to shreds, now it’s time I return the favor.”

Use this sentence of dialogue as the closing line of your story.

Standoff

“You seriously can’t expect me to do this.” Alex says.


“I do.” I say solemnly.


We stand in front of a wall. Covering what is known as the sun. This wall stands so high. Blocking us from this magnificent thing that is only said in legends.


Alex breathes deeply and takes a step back. He readies his fist to side. A burst of energy trails from his knuckles as his fist travels in slow motion to the wall.


Everything explodes. Dust and brick pelt the ground.


“Master, are.. are you okay?” Alex calls into the dust and brimstone.


I climb to my feet. “I am.”


And then.


It

Appears


The Sun. It’s warmth blasts on my face, my hands trembling at the sight of the black sky.


One lone man stands out in the desert of a world.


“Hello.” He whispers. But his mouth didn’t move.


In a blur he travels in front of me.


“I am Despair. One of the Yokai.”


He brings his hand through Alex’s chest with an all too large smile.


“Oh. My friend. You have done me a great service. But!”


Alex falls to the ground. Wounded at best. But I know his real condition.


“You ripped my life to shreds, now it’s time I return the favor.” He says as the stone and my tears rise up off the earth. Dread rising……
