POEM STARTER
Submitted by Shadow Queen
Where there is light, there is always a shadow close behind.
Use this line to start or end a poem.
The Dreaming Dark.
Where there is light,
There is always a shadow close behind.
A metallic flood creeps up the spine,
And whispers are told and taught to bite.
But where our shadows lurk and creep,
Remember sweet child,
It's the light that gave us the forms we see.
Hope?
Lies!
Truly a false sense of sight.
So hold your sorrows.
Keep your tears in your eyes.
For she twists and turns in a lying dance.
The light, she is giving our minds a fearful trance.
Her dance is not for our joy,
But instead to blind,
Veil,
To redefine,
And toy.
She pulls our shadows into horrific lullabies.
But my sweet child,
We were never meant to fear the night.
Be sure to take care in the sweet hushed moonlight.
For in the dark our hopes grow like seeds.
Be sure to sleep soundly,
In the cool cradles of the starry sea.
For in the dark,
Is where we truly dream.
For in the dark, hope grows where the light has lied.
