WRITING OBSTACLE
Pick an object in your home, and describe its function as if it's absolutely magical and unbelievable.
Something as basic as a hair brush could be of magical origin, electrical objects a scientific wonder, everyday items could only have been designed by fairies!
The LED Light Bulb
To Galadriel of the Noldor Elves,
I just saw something amazing! I was walking through the corridors in the castle, and saw a white light coming out of my room. It wasn’t from a candle, for if it had been it would be golden, not white. I stepped into my room and I saw a light, brighter than any candle, coming out of some sort of orb. And what was even more shocking was that the light was cold, as was the orb. It must have been magic, or sorcery. It just couldn’t be natural. There is no light besides the moon’s that is cold. Did someone perhaps catch it’s light in a jar? Had a fairy visited my chambers? Did perhaps an elf cast a spell? Or maybe a prince found a piece of Mirrormere, a gem made from pure starlight, put it in a jar, and put it in my room as a gift. Did whoever give it to me steal it from the Elves or Dwarves? Did someone make it? I don’t understand it. How could it possibly have happened? There must be an answer somewhere, but I don’t know how to find it. If you know the answer, please tell me what it is.
Princess Éowyn,
Niece of King Théoden of Rohan.
