"Let’s skip the pleasantries, shall we? You and I both know we’re not here for small talk.”
Write a story that includes this line of speech.
Blessing.
The vampire shook a little, and the werewolf noticed.
“Hello, Mr. Blackhart, it’s a full moon tonight, isn’t it? Doing anything to celebrate?” The vampire asked politely.
The tall werewolf with grey hair and searing eyes assessed the vampire as the silence grew.
“Uh, have you done anything to your hair? It looks nice-“ the vampire began, but was suddenly cut off.
“Let’s skip the pleasantries, shall we? You and I both know you’re not just here for small talk.” The werewolf said shortly.
The vampire looked terrified.
“Out with it, boy.” The werewolf snarled.
“It’s - it’s about Stacey. I want to ask for her hand in marriage.” The vampire blurted, almost sure Mr Blackhart was about to rip his head off for asking.
“You want to marry my daughter…” the man said, face giving nothing away.
“Yes, and I wanted to ask for your blessing, sir.” The vampire was still trembling, but the thought of Stacey made him keep eye contact.
“Hmpf.” The werewolf huffed. “I suppose you’d best come inside.” The werewolf opened the door wider in invitation, and the vampire stepped through the threshold.
