The Color Of Love
What’s the color of love, based off this quote:
(“What’s the color of love, Pig?”
“What sort of love, love?”
“Don’t know. But you know the way things, they got a color. I wonder what the color of love is. “
“Jesus, Runt. You could read a thousand thick books and never know the answer to that quiz. “
“It’d be a good one to know, ah
“It’d be brilliant, Runt. It’s around here somewhere.”)
is it the color of pink? like Valentine’s Day
or the lipstick you used in middle school?
or the balloons for your birthday when you still believed he would stay.
or the crush you swore the whole world knew.
or is it yellow?
like the happy person you became
or that beach song we played… something about being mellow.
or anything with sun in the name.
or maybe even blue.
like the sky
or the ocean when it loved me and you
when we were in the sand and you were mine.
what if it was white?
simple and nice and clean
like silk sheets in the winter time.
so easy but never what it seems.
I think maybe it’s the opposite.
it could be black.
like the ink of a pen writing a song about a lonely misfit.
or the tattoos that covered his back.
no. I think it is red.
like a wilting rose.
like a scarlet kiss in bed.
this one feels like love the most.
