Here it is quiet. Only the sound of wind pushing past trees. I can hear the way it falls. Here everyone knows each other by names and where we all live. I can walk past stores and greet my friends. I can see the stars painting the sky, see how bright the moon shines but if I close my eyes I’m back home. It’s busy. It’s not sad. I always rush around not speaking to a soul. I never rest. The lights, music the bustling city still whispers in the night time but here it’s quiet. Soft. No sirens, no bright lights shining through the peeks of my window. How can I be surrounded by people I know and yet still feel so alone and lost? Like I’m a small being in a world so vast?
