Sometimes those who wander

Really are lost

Like my favorite stuffed lizard

Not a real lizard

It was made out of felt

And was stuffed with sand.

Very squishy and I called him Clive

I think.

He is long gone

But remains in my memory

My companion for a short walk

Until we went our separate ways

In this journey of life.

Who knows

Maybe we’ll meet up again

In whatever comes after.
