At school was the fubu boys

Their shirts sparked a lot of noise

One was real and one was fake

Classmates laughed and talked with hate

You could imagine what they must’ve have felt

To see their confidence and happiness melt

In that school it’s hard to just be

Because when kids see something fake that’s all they see

One was declared fake and the other real

Imagine the one wearing the fake must’ve feel

At the end of the day when it was time to go home

The kids would not leave the boy alone

The next day there was some devastating news

The boy had left more than a bruise

I knew him and now he’s gone

I told my mother and aunt when I got home

Late that night I tried to sleep

The house was dead silent and you couldn’t hear a peep

The image of the boy was ingrained in my brain

And then it started to rain

I opened my eyes

And then I saw another

Me and the boy was staring back at each other

My heart sank

My mind couldn’t think

My eyes couldn’t blink

My heart was racing fast

As I thought of when I saw him last

He was just there standing in that shirt

As words in blood spelled out “I WAS HURT”
