POEM STARTER

Submitted by Its_Ady

Write a poem about a bird who was once human.

Even now, it remembers what it was like to have hands, to touch, to hold, and to feel. Now wings beat where arms once moved, but the memories never fade.

Under The Ravens Eye

I was a girl, once

And in that time I noticed

That boys are told

To treat girls like princesses

Or even Queens

But the problem was

You can’t treat a princess

Like a queen

And you can’t treat a queen

Like a princess

Princesses need to be protected

They are at sometimes

Sweet and kind

But at others

Needy and demanding

They need reassurance

And gentle love

Queens want to be protected

Though they can take care of themselves

She needs a partner

An equal

You can not be too gentle

Because if she knows

That you will bend to her whim

How can she respect you?

And if she can’t respect you

How can she love you?
