POEM STARTER
Inspired by Cheyenne King
Write a poem where someone is summoned by destiny or fate.
Maybe this person feels like they have a 'calling', or maybe in a fantasy world destiny really does come for people.
Destiny, who are you?
I have never known
What it is to really live
So I did what the others do
And learn from the generations before me
I have sought to fill in
These unanswered questions
On the meaning of my life
So I made a to-do list
Of what my life should be
I planned everything from A to Z
And do what I've always been told
Studying, working, marrying, buying
And everything else that follows
But 'doing' was not enough
To silence the questions
About where I am going
If destiny really exists
Is it restricted to checkboxes only ?
If this is the case,
then destiny would be
an eternal repetition
of what has always been
and what will be
We are stuck.
