“Fuck you Max” Zaz grumbled as Madie tried her hardest to keep his weight up. Which wouldn’t have been so hard if he wasn’t a big muscle head. Of course she wasn’t small herself but this boy had to weigh at least three hundred or more pounds and it was all muscle. As she continued to gawk at him, he gave her a cheesey smile.

“God. I didn’t realize how big you were” Madie sighed, getting a better grip around his waist.

“That’s what she said” Zaz coughed out, a little blood starting to run down his chin.

“What was that about?” Madie whispered. “I’ve never seen you all in such a problem”

“What was that guy about? Took our friends and we know nothing of them” Zaz pulled away a bit and nearly collapsed. Clearly hoping to be able to write himself to no avail.

“It’s a long story… one I hardly want to relive”

“Not like we have much of a choice” Zaz grumbled as she grabbed his arm tighter. “It always comes out in the open.”

“Yeah doesn’t mean it hurts any less” Madie added in as the doors opened so they could exit the mall. “So are you gonna spill?”

Of course the antics of them inside the mall had people rushing in every direction. Loud sirens in the distance told them it was time to get out of dodge. The fear out in the parking lot seemed to rival a Godzilla movie, you’d think a building was coming down.

“This wasn’t the first time he failed to act and someone got hurt” Zaz sighed and looked away from her. “Our freshman year….. My older sister…. Was raped by a few seniors at a party…. I wasn’t there. Was out racing…. Max seen them before and didn’t do shit….”

“Not what I was expecting…. I’m so sorry” Madie tried to get him to look at her but he didn’t.

So without thinking she grabbed his chin, releasing the single tear lodged into the corner of his dark brown eyes. Which made her only want to hold him tightly.

“Nothing happened to them… it was semi pushed under the rug at our private school….. They bullied her hard core for “making it up”. Until one day she just decided to off herself….” Zaz sniffled a bit and rubbed his face. “I wasn’t there….. and Max could’ve done something….”

“It’s not your fault…. It’s not easy dealing with the aftermath. I couldn’t fathom them throwing it into her face either….. I’m sorry” Madie stopped helping him across the parking lot and just gave him a hug. Long drawn out, in the way of cars and everyone walking. “But how was Max supposed to know she needed help either?”

“It’s the reason my parents also stay off on their own accords. It’s been nearly a year since I seen either of them” He sighed and squeezed her tighter. “I beat all of their asses after…. Nearly got expelled because of it. Yet it never helped…”

“Thankfully my parents have a bit of pull with the Dean. Kept him with us at least” Coles voice called over her shoulder. “It was heartbreaking for all of us. Even though we weren’t all so close back then”

Zaz froze for a second, glaring at her and trying to push away and stand on his own. “What are you doing?” Madie grumbled as he stumbled on his own.

“If I watched a group of guys ferry any girl into a room I’d have tried to help” Zaz howled out and a few people started to watched the comotion. “You’d think one of the other girls would’ve done the same”

“Your not wrong? But did you think that way before?” Madie held her hip and stared him down. “Or was it the situation that made you such a girls, girl?”

“Nobody deserves that… ever.” He raised his voice a bit but just grumbled something to himself.

“Sadly nobody else was at the party” Cole added in and Zaz started to stare at him and Nicky who he was pretty much fireman carrying away from the mall.

Her sobs weren’t silent, far from it. A torrential downpour of tears had already wet most of Cole’s shirt. Who could really blame her thou. It’s not everyday someone gets nabbed right before your eyes and everyone is powerless to do anything.

“Just go on” Zaz spat at the ground and Cole just shrugged it off.

“We all loved your sister man. It was horrible” He added in, taking lead as the two stood still waiting for them to get out of earshot.

“So your story?” Zaz was quick to break away from the previous thoughts.

“Family forced us out of Columbia…. Sent us up into Mexico with people who were close to an Uncle of ours…. Shady characters…. Got us across the boarder and then I ….” She stopped, all the flashes of the different men slipping across her mind. From the first time before they had even left, to dealing with all of it all. “Before we even got over the boarder they had started to use me….. After it just became routine…. Once we got over here I was traded around….”

Zaz stopped letting her hold him up and instead just held her close. “I’m sorry”

“We bounced from place to place…. Guy to guy…. Until we ran the first time…. Aaron and his biker guys took us in… I thought we’d finially gotten away….” Now the words started to hinder. “Till the beatings started and he went after Kar…. Then we got traded to the dinner owner and his family…”

“I’m sure that was horrific. I couldn’t even imagine….” Zaz grabbed her hand and started to walk towards the rv. “So how are we going to find him?”

“He and his guys are beyond dangerous” Madie seemed flustered just bringing it up again.

“Well we don’t have a choice” Zaz gave her a side eye as everyone else pulled onto the rv ahead of them. “They also know it’s not all your fault. We shoulda done something”

“They have guns…. More guys and don’t care what they have to do to win….” Madie’s face was horrified by all of the stuff she’d seen them do. “They are real bad guys…. Like movie villain stuff”

“Well I can be your hero” He gave a dumb cocky grin and she slapped her forehead.

“Your really missing the point”

“Point is…. We aren’t letting them get away” Max huffed, grabbing at a bag just out of one of the cabinets. Tossing it on the table he gave everyone a look. “We have guns too”

“They are outlaws…. This isn’t cops and robbers…” Madie growled, looking at the small handguns. “They have real expensive guns, illegal guns.”

A knock on the door made them all jump. Max quickly slapped the wall closed as Cole turned to the door. On the other side stood a woman and a man.

The woman had a blonde messy bun, looking like she’d run a few miles only moments ago. Eyes much a softer green color as they started to scan the room. Which of course Max had left the two handguns on the table. She seemed to notice and nod to the other cop but he shrugged and shook his head.

The man gave off a shadow aura that nearly caused Cole to run as his grey eyes focused on him. It was like locking eyes with Batman and knowing you were about to catch a swift kick to the chin you never saw coming. Instead he just gave them all a Quick Look over. Clearly canvising how close any of them were to the guns in question. Cole of course put his hands up.

“I’m Detective Meric, this is Grayson” She pointed to the man behind her and he just nodded. “We heard reports that you all just had a run in with a certain biker gang? Inside the mall.”

“Judging by those two fire arms on the table. Some stupid “justice” is in your heads” Grayson uttered, still just a fly on the wall.

Of course she on the other hand was looking at Cole waiting for any kind of answer. And of course he just sighed and motioned for Zaz to come over.

“Come on dude” Zaz huffed, motioning for Madie to stay back. “I can’t confirm or deny the fact that we got bullied by a bunch of leather wearing psycho’s. But having a Detective and whatever he is” Zaz pointed at Grayson. “Means they probably in deep shit”

“Ok, I’m done” Grayson grumbled, pushing past Zaz and Max who didn’t stop them. Slumping down into the rv and down at the table, across from Madie who turned ghost white. “Close the door and get in here Partner”

“Grayson we can’t just…” He stuck a single finger up in her direction.

“These two handguns alone are reason enough for us to be suspicious. Probably out of state, might not have a permit to carry them” Grayson looked around the room and his eyes stopped on Max.

Who was currently arms crossed, leaning against the sink. Glaring at both cops with major disdains.

“I’m here because the dick bags have been running kids for someone out of Mexico. I don’t know how your connected or if this was some random violent bs stunt they pulled.” He huffed as Nicky came out of the back, her makeup still smeared from her tears. “I don’t have time to hold anyone’s hand. I need facts, any info you have and to understand why you big buff boys let them take your little girls”

Max grunted and nearly rushed at him, Zaz was quick to step in between. Giving him a look of “cool it asshole, he’s a cop”.

“It’s a crime not to report a kidnapping” Grayson shrugged, watching the eyes around the room. Stacy hadn’t left the closed front entry.

“Are you gonna help?” Madie questioned looking the man right in his eyes. They softened for a second as Zaz leapt into the booth next to her.

“Your one of them…. “ Grayson choaked out, staring into her sad eyes. “I’m sorry….” He said but he’d done this to long for it to have meaning. This was how it went, how it always went.

“Big deal” Max grumbled at the bullshit apology.

“Why now?” Madie looked at Grayson for a split second, before he turned to his partner. “Three days ago they got ahold of a fairly influential persons daughter. I was called in because I always get results and nobody ever ends up dead”

“So they have her too?” Madie questioned and Grayson shrugged.

“We have reason to believe so” Detective Meric said in a fairly hushed voice.

“Most of you are good kids, with repitable parents. So why didn’t you call the police?” Meric started but Grayson waved a hand in her direction and pointed at Madie, then to the two guns and over at Max.

“Legally I can’t know and not do anything about it. So if you all coopperate. We don’t know anything and will personally get papers to clear them” Grayson looked right at Zaz when he spoke. “Is that a fair trade?”

“I don’t work with-“ Grayson put up a single finger in Max’s directions.

“Semi known small level drug dealer. You got into it to get pills for friends who couldn’t afford healthcare. Then somehow that changed to trying to show out and gain traction. I know everything about all of you. Some of you have files and others don’t” Grayson sighed. “I don’t care about the drugs or whatever else is going on. Those girls only have so long until we can’t get them back”

“Fuck you!” Max growled, still only a few feet away from him. “I was doing good and your friends locked me up for it.”

“You got a slap on the wrist due to your parents ties” Grayson shot back, clearly an expert.

“Stopped me from the stuff I wanted” Max groaned and tossed up his hands.

“They have a warehouse north of here. About three hours drive.” Maddie said without looking at anyone but Grayson. “Do you save girls like this often?”

“I always save the girls…. Thank you”

“We are going with” Zaz stood up and Grayson shook his head “no”.

“There’s never a chance I’m taking a handful of civilians into what will probably become a gunfight”

“I’m not just gonna sit here. Doing nothing” Nicky sobbed and Cole was quickly rubbing her back.

“There’s no chance” Grayson rubbed his temple. “This is now an ongoing police investigation with at least three different girls kidnapped. There’s no reason I’d let you tag along”

“Well you clearly don’t know the building unless she points it out to you. So we’re going” Zaz added in giving Madie a quick smile.

“So she goes in my custody in handcuffs and you know why?” Grayson stood up and stepped into Zaz’s space. “Lawyer parents don’t make you a law and order expert”

“What?” Cole questioned with a confused expression.

“Your not going!” Grayson shouted.
