Who?!
My head turning in a panic
I’m acting little manic
I thought I saw a shadow, a figure
It was huge, a giant…perhaps even bigger
People say I am going crazy
My wits are gettinng hazy
But, I know what I’m seeing
Supernatural, fantastical beings
Vast, stupendous figures in the gloom
Sometimes I see them in my room
They wake me in the dead of night
Shake me and give me a fright
Long and pointy squalid nails
Touching my pale frozen face
Dead-bodied, rigid, tense
These are not my friends
I often try to close my eyes
Still, from void they arise
Terror-struck and jittery I feel
This can not be real
And yet, forms, breathing frozen air
Wet, blackened, grimy hair
People think I tell tall tales
But, they have clammy ugly face
They will never leave my mind
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
I’m theirs, no escaping…at least I tried.
