POEM STARTER
Write a poem based on the theme of rediscovery.
Try to use this as the central theme to write a poem that has a structured rhyme scheme.
a dish best served cold
I have long since stopped eating
No longer breathing
Roaming around with a heart that's not beating
Veins of ice, blue blood bleeding
Unbearably numb, void of feeling
Arrow to the chest, fletching to breast
You're in my head, my thoughts a mess
Silent suffering, quiet distress
Impulsive ideas I try to opppress
Building and aching, cries spill from my throat
Agonizing groans, a capsizing boat
Water-logged corpse at the base of a moat
Once I've drowned, there's no doubt that I'll float
Hungry for revenge, I prowl the night
Sharp, pointed teeth seeking something to bite
I don't need food, I'm fueled by spite
I'll become shadow just to smother your light
You clipped my wings, spat on my face
Watched me fall from heaven like an angel from grace
Shooting towards earth like a comet from space
I'd risk it all to escape your embrace - cruel, self-righteous, and like you, a disgrace.
