What am I grateful for? I am grateful for me, For everything that I am to be

I am grateful for my heart, and that I am kind I am grateful for my smarts, and all of my mind

I am grateful for my smile, and the way it shines I am grateful for my body, all curves and no lines

I am grateful for love, and how much I give I am grateful for my life, and how much I live

I am grateful for my eyes, and how much they see I am so very grateful, grateful for me…

But there’s always somebody, that is not grateful for you, and everything that you do

They don’t see your heart, and think that you’re not needed They don’t see your brain, and say you cheated

They make fun of your smile, because it’s not perfectly white They laugh at your body, when you wear something tight

They think you can’t love, that your heart is a stone They say you’ll die soon, depressed and all alone

They never meet your eyes, not paying attention to what you do You know, deep down, that they’re not grateful for you…

But God is grateful for you, and he is one of the few

He knows your heart, and that it’s kind and true He knows you’re smart, and everything you can do

He knows your smile, and it shows your heart He knows your body, His work of art

He knows how much you love, and how little you get back He knows your life is hard, and that self-esteem is what you lack

He knows your eyes, for they show your internal fight He knows, that you are a light

So next time you feel alone, Know that God is your home He loves you, no matter your mood, And for you he has so much gratitude
