STORY STARTER

Write a story where a misunderstanding leads to bad consequences.

It could be a small part of your story, or the whole plot could depend on it.

PART 1

There’s never a happy ending, I exclaimed!

1.

As I walked down my street, with tears on my face and dirt all over my dress.

I felt the weight of the world on my chest, it was late in the night and darkness seemed to had swallow me, and I didn’t even notice the dirt and debris on my body

until a pin shot through my sole.. I had stepped on a rusty nail.

But that was just the beginning of my torment.

Earlier, a man who had once claimed to love me, stood before me,his voice was higher than ever, as he delivered this word..

*our relationship was over*

Now, as I stood there, bleeding and broken.

I couldn’t help but wonder..

could things get any worse?

2.

I stumbled forward with my injured foot dripping with blood.

Oh,I was in agony!

I limped towards the front of my house. I knocked on the gate, but there was only silence. I had told my siblings about my trip with my partner, never imagining it would end in such heartbreak.

With no one to turn to and darkness all over the area.

I had no choice but to go over the wall, unstable and in pains.

With tears stillI, I looked around me and spotted a few sticks lying nearby.

I stacked it up and there was a fragile sense of balance.

.luck in the midst of despair.

I said to myself as I fall over.

opened the door gently and locked it. I didn’t want to be seen looking like a lost, injured ram.

My dress was white by the way🌚

I headed straight to my room, settled in as fast as I could, hoping no one saw me .

After having sleepless night for days, I dragged myself to the office.

I needed to push through the frustration. I am not 19 anymore.

My friend, who is now the CEO of the health organization where I work Noticed my somber mood throughout the day.. I was done with work,I was about standing when he came to me with a concerned expression

“dinner tonight?” He asked ,he winked weirdly at me and I responded no with a straight and frustrated face.

I’ll be at your place at 7 PM. He said as he smiled away.

True to his word he arrived promptly at 7 PM. I never took him serious , all I heard was knocks on my door

with a tired face I went to my living room ,my sibling who had known him since childhood greeted him warmly and seemed un surprised by his presence.

I demand harshly, “what is it that you want??”

my tone was so unwelcoming that my sibling looked at me with fear in her eyes.

My friend chuckled and explained that he was there to take me out for dinner.

He insisted why I resisted. My sister had apparently informed him of my recent lack of appetite, and he seemed concerned with my situation.

After a lot of apology and encouragement from the two of them ,

We headed to a stunning restaurant,

“I had never been to a place like that but I kept my cool”

As we walked in ,I murmured to myself “this place must belong to a high-ranking politician:

J, My Friend 🌹, smiled and revealed that the place belonged to his uncle.

I raised an eyebrow in shock, “your uncle?”

I asked .

as we sat down to eat, he turned serious and his eyes never left mine.

I asked if he was okay and he replied with

“you’re just too beautiful tonight “

I thanked him suspiciously.

While we await dessert..

he asked,so what’s wrong? his voice so low and gentle..as he hesitated to say..”do not tell me it’s all because of that lowlife boy you call a man”

I took a deep breath and sipped my wine, recounting the events that had left me heartbroken and confused .

As I recounted the painful details of my recent breakup ,

My Friend 🌹 listened attentively , his expression ‘a mix of concern and understanding,

I felt a sense of comfort.

When I finish speaking ,he reached out and gently took my hand.. his touch was so warm and reassuring.

I’ve always had a thing for big niggas.

you’re better off without him. He said softly, he doesn’t deserve someone as amazing as you.

He gazed at me with a pitiful look.

We sat in silence for a moment. While second verse of party next door plays at the background of the restaurant (😂😭❤️)

then he spoke up again. Let’s forget about him for now and enjoy your dinner.

I nodded, feeling a little smile creep onto my face.

The rest of the evening was a blur of laughter, really tasty foods, good shows and easy conversations.

For the first time in days, I felt like myself again.
