Too Much Peace
Write a poem inspired by or containing these words. Is there such a thing as too much peace?
The Skilled Sailor
A ship in harbor is safe,
but thatβs not why theyβre made.
The hidden cove of comfort zone
only fortifies the afraid.
Thereβs safety in complacency,
bobbing with the tide every day.
Submerged in work and shallow words,
all while your hull rots away.
Serenity is most fervently
of hopes frequently prayed.
What if the answer was to feel the unease?
And do it anyway?
Chart your course, hoist your sails,
feel the winds of change on your face.
Peace is earned past conquered seas,
you need only crest the first wave.
