How did I allow this to happen? She asks for perhaps the zillionth time. She was a survivor many times over. She knew what to do and what not to do in order to stay safe. Especially in her current condition. Had she been followed unawares. It seemed unlikely given all the precautions she took. But it was like they knew when she was at her most vulnerable. Either that or this unknown nemesis was extremely lucky. Of course there was a third option. One she didn’t want to acknowledge. The fact that she was cursed and had been since birth. No more than slightly warm so as not to cause pain to her badly burned body. Quickly before she could change her mind; she made one deep slash against both her wrists quickly and dropped them into the slightly warm tub water to get her blood to flash out of her body quicker. It was over before she had even felt it begin.
