POEM STARTER
Inspired by Robin Marlowe
Write a poem that contains a volta before the final line.
A volta is a twist, normally at the end of a sonnet. Rather than a plot twist, this is normally a change of ideas, an inversion of the main theme, or a change of heart about an opinion.
Red Blood
I’m bleeding
I’m bleeding so much
When I say I’m bleeding you automatically think I’m bleeding red blood from an open wound on my bare skin
But no
No
I’m not bleeding red blood from an open wound on my bare skin
I’m bleeding pain from inside of my soul
I’m bleeding from the heals wounds on my bare skin
I’m bleeding from the open wounds inside of me
I’m bleeding from all the scars everyone left on me but didn’t even realized
I am bleeding
I have been bleeding my entire life
Never stopping
But I have bleed red blood
Red blood from my hands and knees
Arms and legs
Red blod that never leaves my mind
I was never scared of red blood
I liked it
The site if red blood
Maybe that is the problem
That I liked it
That I still like it
The red blood from my veins
The red blood in my mind
I like the scars that is left behind
But I know I am bleeding out
From inside of my soul
