POEM STARTER
Using twelve stanzas, write a poem about each month of the year.
Months
January,
Cold Crisp and Quiet,
A time when new year has begun
New people are welcomed into our community
And we make sure everyone has fun
February,
The temperature begins to rise,
And people begin to look forward to the sun
Valentines Day is celebrated
Everyone is kind to one another
March,
New life spreads throughout the world
Spring had begun to settle,
Flowers flourish and Blossoms Bloom
Joy spreads through all lands
April,
Seeds are scattered,
And the excitement fizzes.
The time has finally arrived!
The Easter Bunny has been,
May,
The temperature rises rapidly,
And people enjoy the Summer Sun
The fun days have now begun
Beaches, Sunscreen so much fun!
June,
This lovely weather continues
Summer activities are at their peak
There’s always something to do
However can you choose just one thing?
July,
A Sweltering Summer month
School is out for the year!
Holidays have started
Dubai, Greece, Egypt there are so many possibilities
August,
Summer is nearly over
So use while it’s there!
Before we welcome Autumn
Still much fun to be had there
September,
The colder days are arriving
So keep nice and warm,
It’s back to the Rainy days
Still things to be done indoors
October,
As Halloween sweeps in,
There are decorations to be put up
You can have fun in any month
Whether that’s: Sunshine; Blossoms; Sweets; or Snow you never know
November,
The build up to Christmas has begun!
Wish list! They say
Be good they bribe you
But hey Mum and Dad always give the right advice in my eyes
December,
The Family Tradition!
Hot chocolate, Movies, Elf on the Shelf!
There is so much to do!
And before you know know it’s CHRISTMAS!
All the months are great alone but when you think about them all together there wouldn’t be a such year without one of them.
