POEM STARTER
Moonshine and Moonlight
Write a poem which centres on these words. How can you pair these similar words with very different meanings in a poem?
Helps Me Still My Thoughts
People always think that
I only make it to drink it
WRONG
If I only made it to drink it,
I wouldn’t be sat here at midnight,
I wouldn’t be watching in the moonlight
As my moonshine takes form.
Sure school is tomorrow
But lemme have my time
This helps me stop stimming,
Promise.
I know it’s kinda weird
But I tweak out way less
If I just watch the steady
Drip,
Drip,
Drip,
Of the drink, clear, smooth,
From here to there
As the process forms.
Maybe it’s weird
And I accept that
BUT I’M WEIRD TOO
So accept it yourself.
I’m sat in the moonlight,
Watching the steady
Drip,
Drip,
Drip,
Of the moonshine,
Calming my thoughts,
Stilling the bubbling fuck up
That people call senses.
Drip,
Drip,
Drip,
And now my mind is clear
Even if my poem is not.
I’m watching moonshine
By the moonlight
Tonight.
