Absolutely Halfway
The caves scream in fear
A haunting echo rings throughout the cavern as
The hole attempts to close itself before the
Man
Can come any nearer
What was once a cocophony of jasmine and garnet, wind chimes rimming through halls, gracefully sweeping fingers across weeping teeth
Was now a mouth closing in on itself
Wonder, sonder flee while they have a chance
But still, in the ruin, the gemini oxygen lay whispers, gossip as fuel for rumour
The wind noted the younger man cornered, running in fear deeper and deeper into the cave
As the older man gave chase, rocks eroding around him and crumbling
The breeze held the note
“There was once a symphony here”
Trying to contain the memory over the
Man
Screaming, belligerent
Wailing, chasing his own tail
The young man does not have time for thoughts.
He doesn’t have time to appreciate what once was
His faces curls into itself, tears streaming into the open space,
The oxygen chooses him today
The
Man
Behind him is once again
In the younger man’s eyes
The bringer of beauty
Just for its consumption
Even within himself
His lungs are full.
The world feels welcomed here.
The younger man slides down a hole at the ending of the cave, reaching for a distant, natural light,
He could’ve died in that cave
But he DESERVES to see the man at the peak And until then, he will not be looking back Until He can write a sonnet And the wailing stopped.

He wants to make it his, consume it and make it art , But it is beautiful how it is-
I don’t think art cares, or life cares what it imitates
It just wants to be, and it can die being that way too
The air laments the cave
