POEM STARTER

You are out walking when you see a person sitting alone on a bench under a Willow tree, crying. Write a poem about them.

This could be written as though you are observing the person but not interacting, or as though you have approached the person and offered to help.

Tears beneath the willow tree

Tears beneath the willow tree

leave me reminiscent of you with me

laughter, hugs, many memories to share

yearning soft touch but not one to spare

the grief seeps in as snakes do below

there you lay cold beneath winters snow

I miss you, I love you, please watch over me

for I do not want to cry here, no

tears beneath the willow tree
