If only I stayed when he called out my name

But I left in a rush. Now my mind isn’t the same

He asked me a question, but flew I out the door.

And now I just realized, he was worth fighting for.

One moment of stupidity followed by endless regret.

Last week’s awkward silence, I’ll never forget.

If only he knew I wasn’t just leaving…

I was getting out before I had to see him silently start grieving.

I wish I had told him. Or he told me…

Now all I can say is “if only. If only…”
