Whispers on the Wind
Write a poem or short story that could have this as the title.
My Sister Sasha
The deep of my stomach
Burns again when I swallow,
What else am I to do
But drag myself, the wind to follow
My sickness, I realise
In a moment of bliss,
It’s her I know that I hate
And you I remember that I miss
I’m waiting on you everyday
Listening eagerly to hear
Your jagged voice catching on the breeze,
Passing faintly by my ear
Oh Sasha, i’m begging you, please
Let a signal flitter through the air,
Before I begin to scratch at my skin,
Or clutch desperately at my hair
I need your guidance,
A somewhat gentle hand
Talk me through the steps
Of something I’d not planned
Im stuck to one place,
And you know why, right?
Because you seem to have lost your way,
Haven’t come back,
And I don’t think I have the might
A knock would sound on my door
Every couple of days,
Never you, or someone I knew,
But I hoped for it, always
Hopefully, a breath will carry
You’ll be free to listen
One lazy afternoon,
Your caress will sweeten
Until then, I’m waiting on you everyday
Letting my wish linger,
And I’ll ask another passing man,
Have you seen my sister?
