POEM STARTER
Write a poem through the eyes of a child, capturing their wonder at a fireworks display.
In the absence of elaborate and highly descriptive language, think how else you can capture an atmosphere of wonder.
Beams of Hope
The fireworks cast spells in my eyes,
Sound of happiness and excitement
Shot up in the air.
I wasn't scared but actually intrigued.
Little ol me was satisfied to see,
Something as small as me
Shoot up and beam so brightly.
Taking my breath away
And allowing me to see what was possible.
The fireworks were a sign of hope.
Hope and joy, spread around me and
projected throughout my body.
Anchored to the grass, I see what happens
when you don't hesitate or dim.
You roar, and become something beautiful.
Something worth watching.
