Old Hat
My uncle used to always say, “that’s old hat,” whenever we brought up something that was no longer relevant, or if we were wearing something that was no longer in style. I asked him what it meant and he told me his father, my grandfather, once wore the same hat for 30 years. He continued on to say that he likely would’ve worn it longer if it hadn’t literally disintegrated.
