and whispering out the window your wishes

and feeling the air of the night on your face.

a gentle breeze blowing sweet kisses.

happiness is knowing Jesus loves you

and keeping him close to your heart

like the cross around your neck

and putting his love into your art

happiness is being okay with whatever happens

whether good or bad

another bright day will come

after that night that was so unbearably sad

happiness is holding his hand

the one you thought you would never love

until you realized he had something

that wasn't low like the rest, but so far above.

happiness is laughter

with the friends that give you wrinkles around your eyes

and those wrinkles will never go away

and they'll be there for all your golden skies

so you can open the lid

and your darkness will glow from the light.

and hanging the roses on your wall

in your bedroom in that upside down garden

so their petals will never fall

that makes you think of good days

and beads and bracelets and sweet perfume

and it's okay to hope the good feeling always stays

but sometimes happiness won't be around

sometimes it'll leave your town

and leave you feeling alone and down

and that pretty smile will become a frown

but sometimes that's alright
