Confession.
Write a poem, with a set structure, which centres around the theme of confession.

I’m not where I want to be.
I’m not same girl in my reflection that mirrors the concept of ‘me’
Truth be told, I’m a romantic wanderer,
Looking for love in the wrong places while I lose my self-worth that I have yet to conquer.

I don’t know what I’m doing,
But I hope I’m doing it correctly.
I hope the people I love give me the grace to grow while I figure things out hesitantly.

Most days I feel like I’m drowning,
But you’d never know because I’m always smiling.
I can give great advice about your life and not mine,
Knowing damn well I’m a mess and im not fine.

I say I’m a perfectionist but I get tired quickly and lose focus too soon
Sometimes it’s my ADHD, I mean my Adderall, I get nervous and go back inside my self made cocoon

I don’t like my image
So I cover it up with padded bras and tiny pink thongs
So that the distortion fits my cognitive dissonance

Im not a great writer
I’m good at the very least
But its only because I yet to learn to let loose and unleash
