Spell Broken
For years, she had been lost, in a way. She had a family, a house, a normal life like any other person on the earth. In her dream one night, she saw a lady talking to her. She didn’t make out the words, but she was determined to figure out what was going on. The woman in her dream was an older woman, with gray hair in a long braid down her back, and she had a warm smile.
She was going to find her.
She had been walking for what felt like hours, and the world around her shimmered like a magical, happy dream. But, something was missing, and she needed to find it. Everything felt nice, but the world felt more like a blur than she remembered. But, part of her knew that she was close to her treasure, even though she didn’t know what it even was.
At the edge of a long, bushy forest, she found an unusual glowing lantern hanging from a tree branch. The light glowed softly, and brushed it with her fingers. As they brushed it, the lantern’s warm glow almost seemed like it transferred from itself to her.
Ahead, a farmiliar figure emerged from the golden light, smiling eyes full of magic. Her heart pounded like a beating drum. Her eyes filled with tears. She did it. “You found me.” The old woman gleamed. She rapped her up in a big bear hug…
The spell broke, and just like that, she could see everything with fresh eyes.
